Lent 7: Luke 11: 29 - 32

Asking for a sign

There is only one way through to glory-grace
Faith’s satisfaction on glad eagle wings,
Green pastures of abundance for the heart.
There is only one way.

There is only one way for the pilgrim path:
Humility, relinquishment and trust
Dressed in their foreign garb must be let in
There is only one way.

There is only one way: up a lonely hill
To kneel there where the One who died for me
Stretches his arms in blessing to the world.
There is only one way.

There is only one way through death into life
To yield the clamorous me, to be content
With the long silences between great words.
There is only one way.

There is only one way home, to know Him who
Is all my refuge and my hiding place
To rest for now, forever in his grace.

There is only one way.
